Again, I go back to thinking
about Mary Horowictz (from the movie "All About Steve") and her red
boots. A courageous lady and certainly not a conformist. We need more
people like Mary. Yes, she was a bit nutty, but look beyond her infatuation
with Steve and see all the wonderful things she did because of her BIG
heart. She never let fear or self interest stop her from doing what was
right. and quite often she was thought odd for that. When someone
sets their own self interest aside to do what is right, it often causes
discomfort for others because they did not make that choice...their
conscience is speaking. Mary battled that with Steve throughout the
movie but in the movie, Mary had grown a group of supporters...and Steve
eventually realized the errors of his ways. Real life is not always
like the movies...and in real life, the courageous, non-conformers don't
always have a flock of supporters and they don't always get an apology.
But if you are truly courageous, and truly believe in what you are
doing, it will be ok even if...
